Williamsburg, KY – North Carolina S3DA recently held their Indoor State Championship in Clyde, North Carolina. With over four-hundred spectators in attendance throughout the day, one-hundred and twenty-six archers from ten clubs and teams competed. North Carolina S3DA experienced a growth of more than fifty archers compared to last season. Arrow Dynamics Archery coach, Tyson Edwards said, “This NC S3DA Indoor State Championship had the largest turnout of archers for an Indoor S3DA shoot since I have been a part of this program. The championship tournament was well planned and executed. I am proud of the accomplishments these archers and the great state of North Carolina continue to make.”

“The Pinnacle Classical Academy Thunderbirds are proud to be a part of this fast-growing youth archery program! It has been great for our students on many levels, including the large amount of scholarships earned. We want to thank all of the volunteers that make this program so great,” stated PCA Coach, Todd Tongel.

NC S3DA State Coordinator, Renee Griffith stated, “I have watched S3DA grow in North Carolina and it is really exciting. This was our largest Indoor State Championship to date, and I believe we will have North Carolina Shooters on the podium at the next national event. There is so much talent.”

“This is Boneyard Boneheads first season with NC S3DA. We are looking forward to many more to come. We really like this organization and how everyone is friendly and courteous. It was very easy to check-in and then go right into practice and then competition. Everything went smooth and we are excited to see where NC S3DA is in the next few years,” stated coach Jason Brooks.

Before and during the competition, there was a table set-up to honor NC S3DA archer, CJ Griffith. The table featured one of his turkeys, photos and the award he received from the NWTF. CJ Griffith completed the grand slam in one hunting season at 10 years old and has went on to complete the Royal Slam. Archers were also able to stop by the table and take a chance on a raffle provided by Hand of a Sportsman for a youth turkey hunt this upcoming spring. The hunt is fully guided and will be filmed for television.

Colleges and universities that offer archery scholarships sent scholarship certificates to be presented to podium finishers. Over $2.8 million was given away just at this event alone and more than $10 million has been passed out over the past three years. Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA™) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic
