In accordance with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ recommendations designed to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Michigan Department of Natural Resources will be postponing the March 19 public open house in Waterford.
The meeting, originally scheduled for Thursday, March 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Oakland County Executive Office Conference Center at 2100 Pontiac Lake Road, was to gather feedback on a new draft phase 2 general management plan for Pontiac Lake State Recreation Area. The DNR plans to reschedule the meeting at a later date.
A link to the Pontiac Lake State Recreation Area draft plan and additional information on the DNR’s management plan process are available at Michigan.gov/ParkManagementPlans.
An opportunity to provide initial comments and questions about the plan has been extended through April 10 via email to LincolnM@Michigan.gov.
The state is taking proactive steps to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in Michigan. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in reducing the coronavirus risk to Michigan residents. For current and up-to-date information regarding the Coronavirus, visit Michigan.gov/Coronavirus or CDC.gov/Coronavirus.
Moving forward, the DNR will consult with Michigan’s State Emergency Operations Center for the latest on COVID-19 in Michigan to determine if previously scheduled events and programs need to be canceled or postponed. Before traveling, please check Michigan.gov/DNRCalendar for updates.
