Houston, TX –– The Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is excited to announce the addition of Mary Alice Kahanek as its new Director of Convention & Events. With more than 20 years of experience in event marketing and management, Mary Alice brings a wealth of knowledge and global expertise to one of HSCF’s most high-profile areas of operation.
Mary Alice has led large-scale event programs for major corporations including Daikin Industries and Halliburton, managing everything from incentive trips to international trade shows and national sales conferences. She holds multiple certifications in meeting and trade show management and has successfully planned and executed events across the globe.
A native Texan, Mary Alice is deeply committed to causes close to her heart—including co-founding Freedom Street Rescue, an all-breed dog rescue organization. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, baking sourdough bread, and spending time with her rescue dogs.
Mary Alice and her husband, a carpenter and general contractor, love exploring the outdoors together in their RV and have recently taken up fly fishing.
At HSCF, Mary Alice will lead the planning and execution of the annual Worldwide Hunting Expo & Convention, fundraising events, and member gatherings—ensuring each event strengthens community, builds support for conservation, and delivers exceptional experiences for members, partners, and guests.
