Paynetown SRA (IN) hosts Play Passport Challenge

Monroe Lake is offering a Play Passport Challenge on Sunday, June 9, as part of a statewide Nature Play Day initiative that encourages children to play outside.

The passport will have a variety of play and exploration activities for children to enjoy. Bring a digital camera to document each activity because the photos serve as virtual “stamps” for the passport.

Pick up your Play Passport at the campground playground inside Paynetown State Recreation Area, which is at 4850 S. State Road 446 in Bloomington, anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Participants have until 5 p.m. to return to the playground and show the naturalist their photos to claim a certificate and a small prize.

Participating in the Play Passport Challenge is free; however, there is a fee of $7 for state residents per vehicle to enter Paynetown SRA, $9 per out-of-state vehicle.

Questions about this event should be directed to Jill Vance, interpretive naturalist at Monroe Lake, at jvance@dnr.IN.gov.
