LINCOLN, Neb. – Visitors to the 15th Annual Missouri River Outdoor Expo Sept. 21-22 at Ponca State Park are advised that high water along the Missouri will affect the locations of some activities.

Due to recent high Missouri River levels, this year’s event will include two main venues – the Resource and Education Center and Shooter’s Village. The activities and demonstrations on the park’s riverfront will be moved to one of these two locations. All normal activities and demonstrations except for Missouri River boat tours are planned to run as scheduled. Visitors are encouraged to visit missouririveroutdoorexpo.com or the expo’s Facebook page for changes in locations.

Parking for this year’s event will also be affected by the current flooding. All visitors will park on western portions of the park and will be shuttled to the main event. Staff and signage will guide visitors to this location.

“We’ve been working hard to get ready for this year’s expo, and we expect another great event,” said Jeff Fields, northeastern regional parks superintendent for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. “We’re looking forward to see new faces, as well as guests who visit year after year.”

The annual Missouri River Outdoor Expo features more than 80 hands-on outdoor activities and exhibits. This year’s event features many long-time favorites such as Dock Dogs, shooting sports, fish aquarium, climbing wall, kid’s ropes course, Dutch oven cooking, and much more. Additionally, the 2019 expo will feature new demonstrations and activities including the outdoor survivalist Samuel Larson, antler scoring and canine fly ball.
