RENO, NV – – Reno Cerakote is excited to announce the promotion of Michael Orms to Director of Operations. Orms has worked at Reno Cerakote since September 2017 as the Production Manager in which he helped increase efficiency, reduced turnover and created higher quality standards. He implemented a world class employee training program and oversaw the daily procedures of one of the nation’s largest Cerakote and Hydrographic operations.

Orms grew up in Auburn, Washington where he met his high school sweetheart, Kimberly, who he went on to marry. He became a journeyman machinist through a program at Boeing while working at GMS Metal Works in Auburn. He then went on to manage production at Milgard Manufacturing Wood Clad Division where he started as a Production Supervisor and then was promoted on his second anniversary to the Production Manager of the Doors Facility.

For the past decade Orms has worked in the minting business where he quadrupled production at Northwest Territorial Mint after successfully moving the production facility from Auburn, Washington to Dayton, Nevada. He then went on to build a state-of-the-art minting facility at Republic Metals in Miami, Florida. Orms chose to move back to Dayton, NV and started working at Reno Cerakote.

“I’m excited to take on this role at Reno Cerakote and and look forward to building the business by opening up our capabilities to other markets. We will have our ISO certification very soon, it’s an exciting time!” said Orms.

In his spare time Orms enjoys spending time with his wife, his four grown children, and his grandson. He is often found working in his shop, going on cruises, camping or riding his Harley.
