Wildlife for Tomorrow Announces Aug. 20 as “820 Day” to Celebrate and Conserve Arizona’s Wildlife

Wildlife for Tomorrow, the 501(c)(3) organization that directly supports the Arizona Game and Fish Department, is proud to announce the inaugural 820 Day, a new, statewide celebration taking place on Aug. 20 that honors the 820 species of wildlife that call Arizona home.

From the swift pronghorn to the resilient desert tortoise, Arizona’s deserts, forests, and waterways are teeming with life. 820 Day is a call to action, encouraging Arizonans to champion the wildlife conservation efforts that conserve and protect these species for generations to come.

“We’re fortunate to live in a state with some of the most diverse and breathtaking wildlife in the country,” said Jim Goughnour, President of Wildlife for Tomorrow. “But drought, habitat loss, and human impact are putting that biodiversity at risk. 820 Day is about celebrating what makes Arizona wild and inspiring our communities to take action to conserve it.”
