Operations Manager (Deep River, CT)

Manager responsible for all production and maintenance activities in the Molding, Secondary, and Shipping Departments as well as Purchasing and Production Control. This is a high level, high visibility position that requires excellent interpersonal, organizational, managerial and leadership skills.

Specific responsibilities:

·Recruit and train workers and supervisors for all production departments

·Schedule machines and production to meet customer requirements

·Daily interface with all production and secondary supervisors

·Schedule and direct the work force to achieve the production plan

·Direct the company's continuous improvement program

·Maintain the facility and equipment in good working order

·Ensure production workers follow proper quality guidelines

·Participate in corrective / preventive action reviews

·Develop productivity measuring and reporting system and implement productivity improvement programs.

·Ensure product quality at the production floor level

·Ensure safe working environment and that workers follow safety guidelines.

·Build morale; facilitate business processes through communication, mentoring and teamwork

·Participate in daily "stand up" meetings

·Ensure accurate and complete paperwork is used for all sample and production jobs.

Qualifications:

·Bachelor's degree plus minimum of ten years' production experience in a technical environment or equivalent experience

·Minimum of five years' experience in direct management / supervision of production workers

·Experience in a highly participative environment involving continuous process improvement

·Strong commitment to quality, productivity and team performance in the workplace

·Strong commitment to developing skills in subordinates and acting as a focal point helping to coordinate multi-group activities, facilitating and inspiring others to succeed.

·Excellent teamwork, leadership, organization and communication skills.

·Must be Fluent in English
