“SHOOTING PROS” CERTIFIED AT REYNOLDS LAKE OCONEE

All Guides at Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds Are Now NSCA Certified Instructors

GREENSBORO, GA – The guides at Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds not only know the world-class shooting sports playground at Reynolds Lake Oconee inside-out, but after completing an intensive, two-day National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) Recreational Instructor Course with flying colors, six guides earned their certification. With this accomplishment, the entire team of eight Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds guides are now Certified Recreational Instructors.

“This accomplishment allows us to provide our guests with professional instruction while they are being guided through the various shooting experiences,” said Justin Jones, the Director of Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds. “It is much like a golfer’s caddie being a PGA teaching professional, with the education and insight to do more than just offer a few pointers.”

The Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds’ team completing the recent NSCA certification course included Thomas Condon, April Evans, Lewis Gasaway, Jeff Lorenzini, Wayne Smith and Gary Wolf. They join Jones and Jasper Copelan as certified instructors. Evans also serves as the Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds’ concierge.

Under the direction of an NSCA Chief Instructor, the certification program for the Reynolds Lake Oconee team included classroom sessions and exams, as well as shooting tests, to verify each participant’s ability to execute skills and share their knowledge of the sport, from safety regulations to proper shooting techniques, etiquette and equipment.

Unveiled in the fall of 2017, Sandy Creek Sporting Grounds was designed by Jones who is an acclaimed international shooting champion from Great Britain. Woven into 100 acres of beautiful countryside, the luxurious sporting facility features a 20-station sporting clays course, a five-stand shooting range, a sporting clays instructional and games area, an air rifle range and an archery range. Outdoor activities also include fishing, kayaking, canoeing and hiking.

Shooters, archers, and anglers can take their best shots with a choice of active vacation packages that feature with luxury accommodations and outstanding resort amenities – which includes five world-class golf courses – along with the breathtaking scenery and Southern hospitality that has made Reynolds Lake Oconee one of the Southeast’s most popular vacation destinations.
