Sportsman Channel’s Hunt.Fish.Feed. Rolls Out 2019 Tour Schedule

Sportsman Channel’s Hunt.Fish.Feed. Rolls Out 2019 Annual Tour

Annual efforts to feed the needy begins with event in Portland with Comcast Cares Day

DENVER – (April 23, 2019) – Sportsman Channel’s Hunt.Fish.Feed. program continues helping those in need in 2019 with the announcement of their annual ‘tour’ locations. During the past 12 years, the network has served more than 35,000 meals and donated 14,000 pounds of game meat and fish to shelters in cities large and small across the United States.

The 2019 tour continues raising awareness to the still-existing struggle with hunger in the United Sates, as well as shines a light on sportsmen and women’s contributions of game meat and fish to help contribute to solve the problem.

The first stop in 2019 is on April 29 in Portland, Oregon in conjunction with Comcast Cares Day.

Hunt.Fish.Feed., created by Sportsman Channel, is a unique outreach program that taps an underutilized food source – game meat and fish donated by sportsmen and women – to feed men, women and children struggling with hunger across America. An average deer will dress down to roughly 70 pounds of meat, which can feed nearly 150 people in need.

“Year-in and year-out we are proud to try and do our part to combat the issue of hunger in America,” Outdoor Sportsman Group President and CEO, Jim Liberatore said. “Hunt.Fish.Feed. is a program that we embrace and look forward to each year because we understand, as sportsmen and women, we can help provide a potential new source of food for the less fortunate members of our society. We also have the support of other partners like Comcast, Xfinity, DirectTV and AT&T and others who understand our vision and want to play a part in helping too.”

2019 Tour Stops:

· April Portland, Oregon with Comcast

· May Detroit, Michigan with Comcast

Staunton, Virginia with Comcast

· August Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with Comcast

· September Atlanta, Georgia with Comcast

Chicago, Illinois with Comcast

· October Location TBD with AT&T and DIRECTV

Executive Chef and Sportsman Channel host, Scott Leysath, along with volunteers gathered from each partnering location, will lead and prepare meals. Local sportsmen and women donate the meat or fish from their harvests for each meal and Outdoor Sportsman Group and its partners fill in the remainder to make a complete and nutritious meal. Leysath has been working with Sportsman Channel and the Hunt.Fish.Feed program since its inception in 2007.

“Hunt.Fish.Feed. is near and dear to me,” Leysath said. “We represent the outdoor lifestyle community and it is important for us to communicate and promote the idea that we are trying to call attention to an ongoing problem in America and help solve the problem of hunger in our country in a very unique way. Since 2007, I am proud to say that we are doing our part.”

Since 2007, Sportsman Channel has hosted more than 90 events with its Hunt.Fish.Feed program, targeting those with some of the highest homeless populations, including: New York City, Los Angeles, Detroit, Denver, Orange County, Las Vegas, Houston and Washington, D.C.
