Hillsdale College hosted the 2022 USA Shooting’s Shotgun National Championships where over 150 athletes competed for top Trap honors and the chance to be selected for the World Team. Krieghoff shooters shot strong and took home one Gold, three Sliver, and one Bronze Medal across four categories and secured three spots on the World Team.

Team Krieghoff’s Julia Stallings won the Women’s Trap Silver Medal by a comfortable five target margin. Julia ended the first round with a score of 19/25 , but refused to let panic set in. “Time to fight for it” became her mantra as she focused on one round at a time and shot her way to a podium spot.

“This tournament was a huge achievement for me. For the past year and half, I have not been performing to my potential. I recently regrouped with switching my training mindset and mentality around to see if that would help. I couldn’t be more thankful for those who have supported me along the journey!” says Julia.

The Shotgun Nationals also proved successful for Krieghoff shooters Will Hinton and Carey Garrison. Will won the Silver Medal in Men’s Trap. Carey won Junior Women’s Bronze. Additional Krieghoff successes came from Paralympic Trap Shooters Jose Martinez Pico and Sophia Bultema who won Gold and Silver respectively.

The competition was fierce as the scores from the 2022 Shotgun Nationals represented the final determining factor of who would make the 2022 World Championship Team. With the final scores

calculated, Kayle Browning, Will Hinton, and Casey “Jake” Wallace earned spots on the World Trap Team. All three Krieghoff shooters head to Croatia in the Fall to compete in the ISSF World Championships.
