CLX Program Fully Operational, Not Being Replaced

A September 12th news release titled, “RetailBI Replaces the Legacy CLX Data Program,” incorrectly and falsely claimed that the industry-leading CLX Data Program was ‘defunct’ and was being replaced. Additionally, RetailBI’s claim that it replaced CLX, despite having no affiliation with CLX nor eComSystems, the inventor and provider of the CLX Data Program, also proved to be untrue.

The baseless information was released through media outlets last week on the condition of trust, but was later found to be laced with mischaracterizations and distortions. The article’s unnamed “industry sources” especially drew fact-checking attention as ill-conceived and unfounded distortions. CLX remains fully operational and continues to be the leading source of current and historical industry data.

When reached for comment at the company’s Florida-based headquarters, Jon Evans, eCom’s President & CEO commented on the situation:

“Erroneous and contrived rumors about CLX being ‘defunct’ are completely untrue,” Evans stated. “Resorting to unscrupulous tactics, such as spreading false information through reputable news outlets as a marketing ploy, is a discredit to the industry. The CLX program is, and always has been, gathering real-time transactional data, and continues to generate valuable analytical content all day, every day.”

CLX, or CustomerLink Exchange, has long been recognized as the first and most trusted data collection and reporting source in the shooting sports industry. Since being invented and launched by eCom in 2009, CLX has provided real-time access to data and analytics for distributors, manufacturers, retailers, and other organizations. Utilizing proprietary technology to capture daily retail transactions, CLX not only provides access to up-to-the-moment Point-of-Sale data, but offers a vast cache of historical data - something not available through any other source. In addition to CLX, eCom also provides the patented AdVantage program, the industry’s only automated advertising creation and delivery system.

“Despite the changes within the industry over the past decade, CLX has remained the constant, and continues to be the accurate and reliable source of information,” Evans continued. “We are excited to share an announcement in the very near future that will take CLX and associated programs to a whole new level. We look forward to continuing to serve our retailers, manufacturers, distributors, and partners with the best programs and services available on the market.”
