Field & Stream Appoints Gregory D. Gatto as New Interim President

Field & Stream, the iconic brand dedicated to the North American outdoor lifestyle, today announced the appointment of Gregory Gatto as Interim President, effective December 24th. Mr. Gatto will report directly to CEO Benjamin Weprin. Gatto most recently served as Chief Operating Officer for Field & Stream after rejoining the brand earlier this year. Greg Gatto replaces Doug McNamee, who has been named the new Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Baylor University and will transition to his new role in the coming weeks.

Greg is a lifelong, passionate outdoorsman whose identity is rooted in the traditions of hunting and fishing, activities that underscore his deep commitment to ethical practice and conservation. He is a highly respected, experienced, and strategic media executive with more than 20 years of leadership in the outdoor and media industry, including significant prior tenure with Field & Stream. In recent months, Gatto has been instrumental in rapidly driving the brand’s renewed growth in media, overseeing the creation of highly-relevant, multi-platform content to expand audiences across social platforms, successfully launching the brand’s first-ever podcasts, and partnering with and rebranding a dedicated 24/7 outdoor television network.

Gatto’s career is defined by his proven ability to lead digital transformation and operational excellence across global media organizations. Before rejoining Field & Stream, Gatto served as Chief Operating Officer for Motorsport Network Media, a multinational media and technology company, managing comprehensive operations across 15 countries. As COO of MGS Assets, he spearheaded the operational reinvention of the high-growth digital brand, MyGolfSpy, increasing audience engagement and expanding revenue channels. Gatto built his operational foundation over more than 15 years at Bonnier Corporation, where he rose to Executive Vice President, leading their portfolio of over 25 enthusiast media brands.

“Field & Stream has never been more vibrant. As we expand across every channel, our opportunity to engage and grow this community has never been greater. I’m proud to help guide this next chapter and ensure we deliver the authentic outdoor content, products, and experiences our audience expects from Field & Stream,” said Greg Gatto, Chief Operating Officer of Field & Stream.

“It has been such an honor to be a part of the return of Field & Stream. I'm forever thankful to Ben and the rest of our incredible investment group to have had the chance to lead this amazing comeback story,” added Doug McNamee, President of Field & Stream. “I believe we have the best team assembled in the outdoor media space and I'm so excited for the new heights it will reach under Greg Gatto's direction.”

About Field & Stream

For more than a century, Field & Stream has been the most-trusted voice of the outdoors. With origins dating back to 1871, F&S has taught a nation to hunt and fish, to camp and explore, to survive and thrive in the outdoors—all while leading the charge to conserve and fight for wildlife and wild places. The secret to our longevity is simple: Hunters and anglers love a great story—and nobody tells one better than Field & Stream. Acclaimed singer-songwriters Eric Church and Morgan Wallen, along with a group of experienced brand builders, acquired and relaunched Field & Stream in 2024, unifying this legacy brand for the first time in its history. Now embarking on a new chapter, the next generation of Field & Stream includes a best-in-class, outdoor-lifestyle media platform, a return to a print publication, a membership community, a wide variety of co-branded and licensed product lines, plus experiential brand extensions including a modern and affordable lifestyle lodge concept.
