Despite COVID disruptions, we are moving forward with our plans to increase wildlife-focused forest management at scale.
We have buckled down and worked hard over the past 8 months to ensure we can deliver and expand on our mission. Our ability to fill these positions reflects the incredible support of our members and donors and our confidence that such support will continue into the future.
Although the pandemic has caused economic and market challenges, our current Forest Conservation Directors in the western Great Lakes and southern Appalachians are making unprecedented strides. Our new approach is working.
The FCDs will work closely with a range of partners (agency staff, consulting foresters, other NGOs, etc.) to facilitate forest management for ruffed grouse, American woodcock and all forest wildlife. That means promoting active forestry on federal, state and county land, as well as private land. That also means working with deer hunters, bird watchers and many others who can join in our efforts.
We are seeking exceptional applicants with combined experience in wildlife biology and forestry and who are passionate about finding real-world conservation solutions.
Passionate, pragmatic, conservation leaders in the tradition of Gifford Pinchot and Aldo Leopold who are ready to create a legacy of their own.
We are focused on uniting conservationists to improve wildlife habitat and forest health.
