Dealers Reveal “Top-Tier” Manufacturing Partners In October Shooting Industry

Gun stores have no shortage of manufacturers to choose from when deciding which pistols and revolvers to order and display for customers. Who goes above and beyond for the dealer?

In the October issue of Shooting Industry, Tim Barker shares which “Top-Tier Partners” dealers rate as their favorite handgun makers based on a variety of factors, including communication, support and reliability.

“There are thousands of companies that want your business, but the ones who get the most attention are the ones who give me the attention,” shares Accuracy Firearms Co-Owner Kurt Davis.

When describing how a competent gunsmith benefits a brick-and-mortar operation, Bryan Hendricks hits the nail on the head: “A gunsmith who does quality work and completes jobs in a timely manner adds value to a store and ultimately helps a retailer move more product.” He continues his three-part series on adding a gunsmithing/DIY element to a firearms business with a look at how to market these specialized services.

Additional feature content includes how technology, safety and psychology are revitalizing and influencing the training sphere by Brian Armstrong, and Hank Yacek emphasizes how the data collected by most point-of-sale systems can easily be used to improve efficiency — and a store’s bottom line — in “POS: Points Of Surprise.”

FMG Publications Digital Content Editor Ashley McGee shines a light on the women leading gun rights advocacy efforts, particularly the members of DC Project, in the Arms & The Woman column. Ever consider hosting a CCW fashion show to model the range of products designed to discreetly carry a firearm? Nancy Keaton outlines a formula perfected by Amanda Suffecool to put together such an event in Best Practices.

There are a lot of reasons why old, proven firearms designs are being rediscovered and appreciated by defensive gun buyers at this point in the 21st century. Massad Ayoob names a few in the Personal Defense Market installment. And in Editor Jade Moldae’s Industry Link column, he addresses the newly created “White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention” and its potential effect on the industry and 2024 election.
