Greeley, CO Greeley, CO – Burris Optics is proud to announce its title sponsorship of the 2025 Burris Colorado Extreme Hunter match, taking place May 17–18, 2025, in the rugged terrain outside Fort Collins, Colorado. Hosted by match directors Dorgan Trostel and Trevor Schuetz, this unique event simulates real-world hunting scenarios for big game across Colorado's mountainous backcountry.
As a Colorado-based optics company, Burris is honored to support an event that blends precision shooting with authentic field application. The Colorado Extreme Hunter match is part of the 2025 season of NRL Hunter—a competitive format focused on marksmanship, problem-solving, and ethical hunting principles.
The match will feature approximately 22 hunting-style stages, with target distances ranging from 200 to 900 yards and a total round count between 88 and 176, depending on first- or second-round impacts. Short target heights will challenge ranging skills, while wide targets help mitigate Colorado’s famously tricky winds. Shooters will navigate a mild uphill trail through rugged terrain—testing not just skill but stamina and field awareness.
