Shimano Owner's Tournament on Lake Cumberland

LAKE CUMBERLAND PLAYS HOST TO SHIMANO ‘OWNER’S TOURNAMENT’ –

FREE ENTRY STILL AVALABLE FROM PARTICIPATING DEALERS

LADSON, S.C. - Bass anglers can still take part in Shimano’s annual owner’s tournament taking place this Saturday, April 6 out of the Conley Bottom Ramp (http://conleybottom.com) on Kentucky’s Lake Cumberland. Known both for quality largemouth bass and Kentucky spotted bass fishing, the winning two-person team weighing in the heaviest five-fish limit will split the $1,200 first prize. The fishing is from 7am until 3pm, and angler must register by end of business on Thursday, April 4 at participating Kentucky tackle dealers.

“This tournament is a great way for Shimano to support not only the tackle shops who support us in Kentucky, but also the anglers who support those tackle shops with their purchases of Shimano rods and reels,” said tournament director Drew Sadler. “Along with cash prizes for the first through fifth place teams, we’ll also be awarding Shimano Curado, SLX and Convergence bass rods to teams placed from sixth through 30th. We’ll draw for more prizes for other participants during the weigh-in activities taking place on the Conley Bottom Resort docks.”

To gain a free entry, each team member must purchase one of the following Shimano reels or rods from participating Kentucky-based tackle shops – Metanium DC, Metanium MGL, Chronarch MGL, Curado DC, Tranx, Curado 70, Curado K, Citica I or SLX reels; or Expride, Zodias, Curado, Exage, Compre or SLX rods.

Along with the more than $12,000 in cash and prizes for the top 30 teams, “we are also offering a special $500 bonus to the highest placing team where both members own and are using a Shimano Curado K baitcasting reel purchased from one of the participating dealers,” Sadler notes. “For those anglers who have fished with us in the past, while it is a competition, they all have just enjoyed the fun atmosphere of the day. The forecast is calling for low 70 temps, and hopefully no rain. Come join at Lake Cumberland.”
