Team Beretta Sweeps the 2020 Western Regionals

(Accokeek, MD) Team Beretta shooters recently achieved 13 podium finishes in 7 different events during the 2020 Western Regional Championship hosted at Clark County Shooting Complex in Las Vegas, NV.

Team Beretta members in attendance at this event included Joseph Fanizzi, Anthony Matarese, Desirae Edmunds, Zachary Kienbaum, Meagan Harrington, and Dominic Gross.

Fanizzi, a junior team member shooting with an A400 Xcel Sporting Black Edition, achieved an HOA champion honor, and a subsequent junior champion honor, in the main event with an exceptional score of 190 out of 200 targets, marking his first HOA win at an NSCA Championship Tour event. He also obtained an additional junior champion honor and a junior runner-up podium honor in the preliminary and 5-Stand events with scores of 95/100 and 90/100, respectively.

Matarese, who shoots with a Beretta DT11 L, attained four podium honors at the recent event, including third-place in the main event (186/200), HOA champion in the preliminary event (99/100), runner-up in the FITASC event (93/100), and an additional third-place in the 12-Gauge event (50/50).

Edmunds brought home three ladies’ champion honors in the FITASC, Super Sporting, and preliminary Super Sporting events with scores of 89/100, 90/100, and 86/100, respectively.

Kienbaum, shooting with a standard Beretta DT11 over-and-under, attained an HOA champion honor in the Super Sporting event with a remarkable score of 97 targets out of 100, besting his nearest competitor by just two targets. He also obtained two runner-up podium honors in the 5-Stand and preliminary Super Sporting events with scores of 94/100 and 93/100, respectively.

Both Harrington and Gross, junior team members, shot against some tough competitors and scored within the top ten of each event for which they were entered.

Concurrently, Diane Sorantino, Team Beretta Captain shooting with a Beretta A400 Xcel, achieved two ladies’ champion honors at a local shoot (8th Annual Pumpkin Blast) with matching scores of 90 out of 100 targets in both events.

Team Beretta shooters will continue their season at the upcoming 2020 NSCA National Championship in San Antonio, TX from October 17 to October 25, 2020.
