Final Countdown for Songbird Art Contest as Fall Migration Winds Down

As November settles in and the last waves of migrating songbirds head south, time is running out for young artists to join the 2025 Songbird Art Contest. With just weeks left before the deadline, K–12 students are invited to celebrate the season’s remarkable migrations by creating artwork inspired by some of North America’s most captivating species:

  • Black-and-white Warbler
  • Pinyon Jay
  • Purple Finch
  • Varied Bunting
  • White-breasted Nuthatch

To enter, students must select one species from the Bird List, research it, and create an original, hand-done art piece. Students in 4th grade and above will also submit a short creative writing piece highlighting their bird’s story and conservation needs.

Like the birds making their final push along their migratory routes, the window to participate is closing fast. All entries must be submitted by November 30, 2025.

For submission guidelines and more information about this year’s featured species, visit the Songbird Art Contest webpage. For questions, contact Veronica at vmangio@wildlifeforever.org.
