Outdoor Scholars Releases Latest Episode of Outdoor Scholars TV

The President’s Outdoor Scholars Program at the University of Montevallo has started sharing its special hunting and fishing trips with the rest of the world via its new YouTube series, "Outdoor Scholars TV."

The sixth episode, released on August 5, follows Hannah Garner, Jarrett Brown and John Caleb Turner on a south Alabama quail hunt at Soggy Bottom Lodge in Linden, Alabama.

According to William Crawford, director of the Outdoor Scholars Program, the trip to Soggy Bottom Lodge is the longest running trip that the students have enjoyed over the last 3 years. Brandon Smith and his staff run a first class operation and we are excited to have them involved with our program.

We also had a special guest join us this week as Josh Carney, Son of the South, gave an inspirational and motivational speech to the students.

In addition, the Outdoor Scholars participated in the Alabama Wildlife Federation wild game cook-off. It was not easy but the students prevailed to take home first place in the Fowl Division.

This episode can be viewed now on the Outdoor Scholars YouTube channel.
