Buckeye Firearm Association PAC Issues Candidate Grades, Endorsements

If you've already voted and supported pro-gun candidates, thank you. You're a patriot and we appreciate your help in this election.

If you're a little old fashioned like me and are waiting for Election Day on Tuesday, November 3, to vote in person, here's some information you may find helpful.

Candidate Grades and Endorsements

Our political action committee spent weeks carefully evaluating and grading hundreds of candidates. We looked at survey answers, voting records, participation in firearm and sportsman activities, knowledge of the issues, and many other factors.

Please use this information in your decision-making process on Election Day. We are a one-issue, nonpartisan organization. Our grades are focused exclusively on gun rights. We do not factor in a candidate's party or any other issue to keep our information clear and consistent.

We have endorsed Donald Trump for President

Ordinarily, we focus on Ohio Senate and House races, but given the overwhelmingly anti-gun platform of the Biden / Harris ticket, we are compelled to go the extra mile and endorse Trump for a second term.

While we realize many Democrats are gun owners and gun rights supporters, the fact is that party leadership and radical, outspoken influencers are pulling the party to the left in dramatic fashion. And we are alarmed at where the party appears to be headed on the Second Amendment.

If you are a Democrat and / or a Biden supporter, you may not realize what the party is planning because they have not spoken much about this issue since the primary elections. But before you cast your vote, please review the Official Democrat Party Platform on guns. Click here to read it for yourself, on pages 47 and 48.

If you vote for Biden, THIS is what you're voting for.

  • Ban the manufacture and sale of "assault weapons" and "high capacity" magazines.
  • End online sales of guns and ammunition.
  • Ensure the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention "have sufficient resources to study gun violence as a public health issue."
  • Enact universal background checks.
  • Expand the definition of who can lose their gun rights due to misdemeanor domestic violence charges.
  • Halt the safety valve that allows would-be gun buyers to receive a firearm after a background check has stalled out for more than three days.
  • Enact mandatory gun lock laws.
  • Push for states to enact licensing requirements for owning firearms.
  • Push for more "red flag" gun seizure laws which have become increasingly popular in blue states.
  • Prioritize repealing the law that shields gun manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits.

Additional Voting Information

The Ohio Secretary of State website has complete voting information. We provide links to some of this information below.

One thing I highly recommend is to view a sample ballot for your location. This will show you all the races and issues that will be on your specific ballot when you go in to vote.

I print off a copy of my ballot, fill it out, and take it to my polling location as a "cheat sheet." This helps me vote quickly and accurately on every race all the way down the ballot. I suggest you do the same.

One Final Thought ...

I know we say it every election, but this time it's absolutely true: This is an important election. Forget the tweets, insults, and food fights the media keeps using to distract you. This election is about the future of our state and our country.

Voters will decide whether we value liberty and individual rights or whether we want government control and mindless conformity. And yes, every vote counts. YOUR vote counts. Let nothing stop you from voting. Make your voice heard and stand with us as we continue our fight for America and our Constitution.

May God bless you. And may God bless America.

Yours for Liberty
