Visitors are invited to join Santa and kick off the holiday season with a “Trim the Tree” event at First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park on Friday, Dec. 12 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. The free event is open to all ages and hot chocolate and cookies will be available during the festivities.
Visitors can celebrate the start of the holiday season and join in the fun by helping park rangers decorate the visitor center tree and by making their own wood or paper tree ornaments. Santa Claus will visit at 5 p.m. to hand out candy canes.
From Nov. 28 until Christmas Eve the park gift shop is having its annual Christmas sale and items are 15 percent off retail prices. During the Trim the Tree event on Dec. 12 all items in the gift shop will be 20 percent off. The gift shop is open during regular winter hours Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
The park is 3.5 miles north of Ulm, just off Interstate 15 at Exit 270. For directions or more information about First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park visit fwp.mt.gov/stateparks/first-peoples-buffalo-jump
