Williamsburg, KY – Inside Out Archers of Kentucky recently held the fourth Kentucky S3DA Indoor Regional of the 2023 competition season in Marion, Kentucky. The host team held a Friday flight and a Saturday flight to accommodate spacing and allow more archers the opportunity to participate, as there were 165 archers from eight teams registered for the event. There were smiles all around as archers and their respective families were glad to be able to see their “archery family” again.
The sportsmanship displayed by archers isn’t something you see in most sports. Regardless of whether they are on the same team or another team, each archer is more than willing to help the other out. Archers greeted each other with open arms and there were handshakes and hugs at the conclusion of the shoot-offs. It was estimated that nearly 300 people entered the facility over the course of the weekend.
Inside Out Archers of Kentucky Coach, John Boudro said, “We had an amazing turnout for this tournament, and we are truly honored to host this event and welcome other archers/teams to our facility. We couldn’t be prouder of this young team and the parents and coaches that give up their time to make events like this happen. We had several podium finishes and some archers that shot their first ever tournament. We have doubled in size in just one year and we have had several people contact us after seeing photos and reading about our tournaments.”
“What a great tournament! This was an amazing turnout for Inside Out Archers, and they did a great job of hosting this indoor regional. Some of the volunteers served BBQ and archers and their families had the opportunity to participate in an on-site raffle for awesome prizes provided by local archery businesses. As we move forward, we are looking forward to our brand-new Battle of the Bluegrass where archers can compete in eastern or western Kentucky. Then, at our Indoor State Championship we will have a shoot-off for the Battle of the Bluegrass Champion between first place of the east and first place of the west. Our archers are pretty excited about this opportunity, and we can’t wait to see what happens,” stated Kentucky S3DA State Coordinator, Rob Cox.
