Heartland Waterfowl Hunts Honkers During High Wind Hunt

Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sportsman Channel

DENVER (November 18, 2021) – Heartland Waterfowl, airing Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sportsman Channel, shares compelling stories through creative filming and honest experiences while promoting the true ethics of waterfowl hunting. On this week’s episode, the team is hunting honkers with High Plains Wingshooters in Torrington, Wyoming. The conditions are challenging, including one day with winds exceeding 70 m.p.h.

Heartland Waterfowl is hosted by Logan Burditt and Ronnie Philips. Burditt is a fifth generation waterfowl hunter with roots originating from northeast Missouri. He was extremely fortunate to have been raised with numerous highly-qualified outdoorsmen front-and-center in his life. Safety and animal conservation were strongly taught and enforced, mostly by example. He shot his first pheasant at the early age of seven with a 410 shotgun. He quickly became a fan of all bird hunting and saw his love of the sport intensify while playing college baseball at Fort Hays State University in Kanas.

As a second grader from Marysville, Kan., Ronnie was introduced to upland bird and deer hunting by his grandfather, David Curtis Carter. He learned about the outdoors from the man who made a name for himself as a multi-year Bird Dog Trial Champion in South Carolina and owner of Carter’s Shooting Preserve. Several years later, Ronnie’s passion for chasing upland birds shifted to waterfowl after his first afternoon duck hunt outside of Mound City, MO. After 22 years as a country music on-air radio personality, Philips decided to parlay that experience into his passion for the outdoors with the creation of Heartland Waterfowl.
