LADSON, S.C. – Shimano’s support of the Coastal Conservation Association’s efforts is well known, especially within the CCA-California state chapter where the tackle manufacturer is a founding sponsor. Many of Shimano’s staff have been involved since the chapter began in 2015 and continue to serve on the board of directors.

Shimano has announced a $10,000 donation to CCA-CAL to be presented this month. “We want to show our continued corporate commitment to support recreational fishing access and science-based fishery management in the Pacific Ocean waters off California,” said Shimano North American Fishing, Inc. president Dave Pfeiffer. “We look forward to how our contributions support the efforts to advocate for saltwater anglers, build stronger fisheries and successful hatcheries, and expand youth programs.”

In 2018, commemorating the 50 years Shimano has had a presence in the United States, the firm donated $50,000 to CCA-South Carolina and CCA-CAL, recognizing the two states where Shimano has firm roots in the fishing tackle business. “We understand that maintaining our corporate operating decisions means maintaining strong and mutually beneficial relationships with communities and sportfishing advocacy organizations where we live and work,” said Pfeiffer. “Thankfully, through the support and confidence West Coast anglers have in relying on Shimano tackle to pursue both inshore and offshore species, enable us to financially support advocacy projects such as those of CCA-CAL.”

Promoting health and happiness through the enjoyment of nature and world around us is the entire mission of Shimano’s operations worldwide, notes Pfeiffer. “In following our mission statement, Shimano has always stepped up, and we encourage other industry leaders to do the same by financially supporting CCA-CAL for all the great work being done in California. While we were not able to assist CCA-CAL this year at the Fred Hall Show in person due to growing concern of the COVID19 virus, we hope this contribution will help them meet their financial goals for 2020.”
