(MANSFIELD, TEXAS) – Sellmark Corporation has pledged to “Back the Blue” and last month’s GunBroker Charity Auction is solid proof. The auction’s contents included a one-of-a-kind Phoenix Weaponry AR-15, Thin-Blue-Line Kopfjäger Carbon Fiber Reaper Grip Kit, Pulsar Thermion XG50 thermal riflescope and Hornady ammunition. The auction raked in a whopping $12,225.00 with proceeds directly benefiting the Dallas Chapter of the Brotherhood For The Fallen (BFTF).

The Brotherhood For The Fallen charity was established after five Dallas police officers died in the line of duty in July, 2016. The charity’s mission is clear: To provide emotional and financial support for the families of fallen police officers. Composed of volunteers including active officers, the charity sends representatives to 40-45 funerals across America each year to comfort widows, children and coworkers of the deceased. BFTF initially provided $250 dollars to the stricken families but as the charity has grown, they have given up to $1500. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the BFTF has expanded to eight chapters across America and their noble mission has continued to grow apace.

The death of a loved one devastates on many levels. The BFTF ensures the family members they are not alone, that they have joined an even larger family, the law enforcement community. Due to claims delays, families often cannot receive insurance money for months on end. BFTF fills that gap and helps get mortgages paid and groceries purchased. Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, BFTF representatives have been unable to attend many funerals in 2020 but they still sent the money to the families. Their vital, heart-wrenching work continues today.

Police work is complex, challenging and dangerous. The brave men and women who comprise the ‘thin blue line’ that separates order from chaos deserve our respect and gratitude.
