Make MLK Day a Day On, Not a Day Off

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service invites all Americans to volunteer on Martin Luther King, Jr. National Day of Service, particularly on public lands and waters.

The only federal holiday (this year on January 20) designated as a national day of service, the holiday encourages all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities.

If you would like to volunteer at a National Wildlife Refuge or National Fish Hatchery, visit https://www.volunteer.gov/results.cfm?Agency=FWS which contains volunteer opportunities with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as well as other state and federal agencies that protect our nation’s natural and cultural resources.

To learn more about how you can volunteer at public lands and waters managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, visit the FWS volunteer page at htpps://www.fws.gov/volunteers/index.html.
