White Bear Lake, MN – Wildlife Forever is pleased to announce that the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) has renewed support for the 2023 Fish Art Contest. The partnership between Wildlife Forever and the IGFA seeks to engage youth in the joys of fishing and the importance of aquatic conservation.

The IGFA Conservation Award is a special program component that will highlight the roosterfish, bringing awareness and understanding to this important species. The award will run in conjunction with the IGFA’s new roosterfish research program, which hopes to answer questions about population dynamics and the best management techniques for this species.

“Wildlife Forever is grateful for the ongoing support of the International Game Fish Association. Together, we’re engaging youth in conservation and helping students understand the value and importance of our ocean ecosystems,” said Pat Conzemius, President and CEO of Wildlife Forever.

“The 2023 IGFA Conservation Award will let students see research and conservation efforts unfold in real time. Teaching youth about conservation is critical for the future of our rapidly changing oceans, and the Fish Art Contest is an approachable way for students to connect to these issues,” said Jack Vitek, Marketing Director & Chief of Staff at the IGFA.

Youth who would like to compete for this award should include a roosterfish in their art submission. The winner of the IGFA Conservation Award will be gifted a prize package courtesy of the IGFA.
