S3DA Offers Remote Learning for the Basic & Advanced Archery Instructor Training Course

Williamsburg, KY – Scholastic 3-D Archery currently provides two (2) main levels of coach certifications: Basic Instructor, and Advanced Instructor. To become a coach in the S3DA organization, any interested party must complete the Basic Instructor Training Class. Once you have been certified as a Basic Instructor, S3DA would like you to continue your archery training and eventually become an Advanced Instructor. The Advanced Instructor course is usually taken over two days in-person. In the Advanced Instructor course, you must demonstrate mastery of intermediate archery skills, thorough understanding of the S3DA curriculum, ability to communicate well, and ability to teach large groups in a classroom setting. During the global pandemic, S3DA took the plunge into the world of remote learning, and the need has exceeded expectations. While S3DA instructors will continue with in-person classes, those who prefer may instead register for the remote option.

Frank McDonough will be teaching both the Basic & Advanced Archery Instructor Training Courses remotely. Frank has a wealth of knowledge about the sport of archery as he founded and currently hosts a podcast called The Barebow Project, which provides a positive environment for growth of barebow and traditional archery classes.

Adults across the US can take this remote learning course from the comfort of their own home. The course is designed to allow adults the opportunity to work on their certification at their own pace over a 4-week time frame. Readings, assignments, and meetings are pre-determined allowing the learner to do their work in the same format being used by educational institutions across the world at this time. This self-paced course will have weekly virtual meetings and assignments that will be due via Google Classroom.

About Scholastic 3-D Archery

Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) is a unique, family-oriented youth archery program which has grown exponentially across the United States as a next-step initiative to follow introductory archery programs. The mission of the Scholastic

3-D Archery program is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3-D, indoor target, and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. The goal of the S3DA program is to provide archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. S3DA youth participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment. Youth archers can participate at regional, state, and national archery events and earn college scholarships from colleges and universities across the United States. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers.
