Indiana: Paynetown SRA resumes ‘Lunch with Nature’ events this fall

Registration is now open for Paynetown SRA’s popular Lunch with Nature series this fall.

During Lunch with Nature sessions, attendees are encouraged to bring a sack lunch to enjoy during the main presentation. Afterward, there is often a short hike or activity that further highlights the month’s topic.

Sessions are about 90 minutes in length and recommended for adults. Each one is limited to 14 people, and advance registration is required.

On Monday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m., the topic will be “Life in the Soil,” which will explore the critters, fungi, and other things that give life to the ground. Sign up at bit.ly/lwnsep2019 by Sept. 27.

On Monday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m., the topic is “Going Nutty.” Attendees will learn what a nut really is, explore its past, and learn about how nuts are produced and what animals depend on them. Registration is required by Oct. 28 at bit.ly/lwnoct2019.

Paynetown State Recreation Area (on.IN.gov/monroelake) is located at 4850 S. State Road 446 in Bloomington. The property entrance fee is $7 per vehicle with Indiana license plate, or $9 per vehicle with out-of-state license plate.
