Rather Outdoors Seeks Creative Content Writer

POSITION : Creative Content Writer (full-time)

We are looking for a storyteller that can produce top-tier content that can be turned into a compelling and relevant story that will connect with the target audience. We require that person that is self-motivated, willing to take on challenges head-on and is able to adapt as needed to find solutions on the spot to ensure a project is executed at the highest level.

The Creative Content Writer will be responsible for creating compelling content to be utilize across multiple platforms and mediums, ensuring a consistent voice and messaging for our entire family of brands.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce well-researched content for publication online and in print
  • Organize writing schedules to complete drafts of content or finished projects within deadlines
  • Utilize industry best practices and familiarity with the organization's mission to inspire ideas and content
  • Communicate and cooperate with team, including a digital/social content manager, Art Director and PR Director
  • Follow an editorial calendar, collaborating with other members of the content production team to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Develop related content for multiple platforms, such as websites, email marketing, press releases, print collateral, product descriptions, videos, and blogs
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of key performance indicators (KPIs) to offer suggestions for improvement

KNOWLEDGE/REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proven record of excellent writing demonstrated in a professional portfolio
  • Impeccable grasp of the English language, including idioms and current trends in slang and expressions
  • Good time management skills, including prioritizing, scheduling, and adapting as necessary
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to communicate with clients, colleagues, and management
  • Proficiency with computers, especially writing programs, such as Google Docs and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and InDesign
  • Strict adherence to the brand style guides
  • Familiarity with company's brand image, products, and services

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BSc in Marketing, English, Journalism or related field and 3 to 5 years experience.

• Must provide online portfolio and/or access to digital samples of finished prior work for consideration
