Registration, Lodging Now Open for the 2023 National R3 Symposium

Washington, D.C. – The Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports (Council) has officially opened the registration portal for the 2023 National R3 Symposium.

This year the annual recruitment, retention and reactivation (R3) event is scheduled for May 22-25 at Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Professionals from agencies, non-governmental organizations, and industry across the country will convene for in-depth discussions dedicated to ensuring the future of hunting, target shooting, angling, boating and conservation.

Sessions will address hunting and shooting sports participation, tribal R3 engagement, avidity, What Women Want research findings, industry engagement, hunting regulation complexity, virtual resources available to hunter and shooters and more.

“The National R3 Symposium is the nation’s foremost R3 event,” said Executive Director Dr. Steven Leath. “Our commitment to emphasis on shooting sports participation, range access, hunting participation, policy and regulations and professional development continues to draw strong support from our stakeholders.”

Once again, the Council will host the rapid-fire R3minutes where professionals share their best projects, success stories, and lessons learned while engaging in a little lighthearted competition. Abstracts are due by April 15 for consideration. Visit the symposium page to learn more.

In partnership with the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation (RBFF), the Council also will offer R3 foundational training. New and seasoned practitioners are encouraged to attend at no additional cost. The session helps lay a solid foundation and understanding of R3 principles, strategies and inspires success in implementing R3 programs when they return to the workplace.

Registration for the symposium is $475, $425 if booked by March 31, and includes access to all sessions, networking socials and event-provided meals. Visit the symposium page to register.
