St. Croix Showcases Diverse, New Rod Offerings at ICAST

From bass to surf to fly and ice, St. Croix continues development on category-leading rods for anglers of all walks

Park Falls, WI – St. Croix takes pride in giving anglers the exact rods they need for any fishing situation or presentation. Case in point: take a look at the exceptional lineup of new, industry-leading rods for 2020 coming out of Park Falls, Wisconsin at this week’s ICAST show. St. Croix has been hard at work developing new models and improving existing lines in every rod category, providing even more diverse choices for anglers across the globe.

FRESHWATER - MOJO BASS GLASS: More Mojo for Your Money

Redesigned for 2020, St. Croix’s Mojo Glass Bass brings anglers more glass options for hot presentations at a great price point

St. Croix Mojo Bass Glass series rods now employ Integrated Poly Curve (IPC®) mandrel technology and design. That means their super premium, 100% linear S-glass blanks have gradual, consistent tapers and uniform wall thickness from tip to butt, resulting in incredibly smooth, strong, light and sensitive, moderate action glass rods. Best of all, all this technology and performance comes at an attractive Mojo Bass price point.

The new Mojo Bass Glass series includes five moderate action rods—four new casting models and one new spinning rod—covering a wide range of technique-specific applications. Anglers will find specially designed models suited to target cranking, chatterbaits and rattlebaits, multi-purpose crankbait fishing, as well as a model designed specifically for plus-sized crankbaits.

The expanded Mojo Bass Glass casting rod lineup starts with a versatile duo of medium power, moderate action crankers: the 6’10” TARGET CRANKER (MGC610MM) and the longer 7’2” CRANKER (MGC72MM). Fans of chatterbaits and rattlebaits will rejoice over the 7’2” moderate action RIP-N-CHATTER (MGC72HM), a heavy power stick incredibly adept at shaking rattlebaits and slicing chatterbaits through the salad. For times when larger crankbaits get the nod, the 7’4” medium-heavy, moderate action BIG CRANKER (MGC74MHM) steps up for duty. Lastly, the expanded Mojo Bass Glass lineup includes the 7’2” medium power, moderate action CRANKER (MGS72MM), a standout spinning rod designed to excel in throwing smaller, slim-profile crankbaits. All new Mojo Bass Glass models retail in the real-world range of $140-$160.

SALTWATER - AVID® SURF: Surf’s Up in Orlando!

Simply put, these are serious surf rods, designed for serious surfcasters looking to beach serious fish. Whether heaving heavy baits from the beaches of Cape Hatteras, casting 3-ounce bottle plugs for Montauk stripers, or trying to steer a crazed tarpon away from bridge pilings in the Florida Keys, these super strong, extremely versatile sticks can handle any challenge surf fishing presents.

Avid Surf rods combine St. Croix’s Integrated Poly Curve® (IPC®) mandrel technology with premium, high-modulus SCIII carbon for exceptional strength, smooth power and increased sensitivity. FLY - IMPERIAL® SALT: New Fly Rods at ICAST

Exceptionally versatile, powerful and smooth, St. Croix’s new Imperial® Salt fly rods add muscle to your mechanics

Serious salty flyrodders are always working on their mechanics. From practicing double-hauls and driving big streamers into the wind, to rolling over a crab pattern so it consistently lands with the kind of gentle precision that keeps wary permit at ease, veteran casters constantly seek to fine-tune their performance. But good mechanics aren’t always enough to achieve optimal results; great casters need great gear. With the introduction of St. Croix’s new Imperial® Salt series of fly rods, fly anglers can now cast to their potential—and perhaps beyond—at an affordable price.

Available in six versatile 9’ 7- through 12-wt. models, Imperial Salt 4-piece fly rods combine SCIII carbon with IPC® mandrel technology to create lightweight, fast-action rods with the strength to conquer the toughest marine fishing environments and combatants. Seaworthy components and a clean, stealthy look punctuate the series. Slim-profile ferrules, Sea Guide® PVD coated stripper guides with zirconia rings and deep drawn frames, plus Sea Guide® PVD coated snake guides come together to guarantee smooth casting and optimal line shooting. An uplocking machined-aluminum reel seat, premium-grade cork handle and fighting butt (10 to 12-wt. models only) assure angler comfort throughout the battle, while a Sea Guide® PVD coated hook-keeper easily secures the fly at day’s end.

St. Croix Imperial Salt fly rods are designed and handcrafted in Park Falls, U.S.A. Each rod comes with a rugged rod case with handle and divided polypropylene liner. From bonefish, redfish, snook, permit and tarpon in southern waters, to stripers, bluefish, weakfish and false albacore in the north, the new St. Croix 9’ 7- through 12-wt. Imperial Salt fly rods will improve the game of any fly angler. All models carry a 15-year transferable warranty backed by St. Croix Superstar Service. Retail prices range from $340-$380.
