Wisconsin S3DA Hosts Indoor State Championship

Williamsburg, KY – Wisconsin S3DA hosted their 7th annual Indoor State Championship at Fond Du Lac County Expo Center in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. This facility is an amazing venue for the Wisconsin S3DA archers and their families as there is an abundance of space including large restrooms, handicap accessibility, and ample parking. The Wisconsin S3DA Indoor State Championship included 167 archers representing 18 different teams across the state and hundreds of spectators watching and cheering. Wisconsin S3DA membership numbers continue to rise as they are currently the second largest S3DA state with active youth memberships.

There were archers competing in every age division (Jr. Eagle, Eagle, Youth, & Young Adult). The competitors, coaches, and parents enjoyed the venue and the excitement of shooting for awards and being recognized as state champions. Many parents and spectators made the statement that they really enjoyed the shoot and were impressed with the growth of these archers from the beginning of the season until now.

S3DA Parent and Yahara River Archers Coach, Bill Yerges said, “The Wisconsin S3DA Indoor State competition was a wonderful success! It was amazing to see archers of all ages competing and engaging with each other, pushing each other to perform at their best. The amount of family support and the audience participation was both respectful and engaged. There were numerous personal bests, some 300 rounds, and one perfect 300/60X was scored. Most importantly, the core values of S3DA were on full display.”

“What a professional event! Everything ran smoothly and a great time was had by all. It was nice to see how many kids stayed to help break down target bales and clean up after the event concluded. To come and compete in a long day of archery and then stick around to help afterward really shows the character of these kids. We are proud to be a part of the Wisconsin S3DA program,” stated parent Tim Thyssen.

Paradox Archers Coach, Michelle Litke said, “A lot of hard work and planning goes into making an event like this. Wisconsin S3DA archers, parents, coaches, and volunteers do a great job of working together and it truly is one big family. Every detail was covered and handled with grace and professionalism. The archers, who have put so much work in this indoor season, were able to put their best foot forward and shot some great scores for the state championship. We are super proud of all these archers and look forward to the 3D season.”

Wisconsin S3DA State Coordinator, Scott Fuchs said, “The Wisconsin S3DA Indoor Target season ended on a high note. Our volunteers ran a great event for our archers to demonstrate the skills they’ve spent the season working on. The range was never idle as the youth archers shot their rounds, then participated in a Luck of the Draw event where parents, coaches, and archers teamed up in a fun competition while results were compiled. Thank you to all the archers, parents, coaches, and volunteers that made our season so successful.”
