The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife is welcoming participation in Hunt PrOH, the newly launched hunting guide certification program. Guides and outfitters offer hunting access and assistance to customers who hunt white-tailed deer, wild turkey, waterfowl, or other game. The Hunt PrOH guide certification aims to improve consumer confidence when selecting guides or outfitters for these types of hunts.
Accreditation through this voluntary program demonstrates a commitment to strengthening the reputation of the outfitting industry and enhancing communication with the Division of Wildlife. The program offers inclusion on the Division of Wildlife’s list of accredited outfitters. To become certified, the outfitter and their guides providing services are required to meet the following qualifications:
People interested in becoming accredited through the Hunt PrOH guide certification program can find more information at wildohio.gov. The accreditation process takes approximately 30 days. Participation in the voluntary program is free, but completion of the background check and training through outside vendors may have a fee.
Customers can find a list of accredited outfitters at wildohio.gov. The Division of Wildlife expects accredited guides and outfitters to offer services during the fall 2025 hunting seasons.
