Outdoor and Sportsman Channel Celebs on Denver Film Festival Panel

DENVER Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel hosts Nick Hoffman and
Scott Leysath, respectively, will be featured panelists during the Denver Film Festival at McNichols Civic Center on November 2 at 4 p.m. Hoffman, host of Outdoor Channel’s Nick’s Wild Ride and Leysath, executive chef and host of Sportsman Channel’s Dead Meat will discuss the outdoor lifestyle industry, television, food, travel, music, as well as Sportsman Channel’s HUNT.FISH.FEED program.

With storied careers in music and the culinary arts, Hoffman and Leysath today find themselves creating a different form of art in a vastly different medium and – what some might assume – a vastly different frame of mind. The two television hosts have taken circuitous paths to get where they are, and it might be safe to bet the Denver Film Festival may not have a more interesting discussion all weekend.

Besides his television show, Hoffman, who has performed with some of the biggest names in music (Kenny Chesney,Keith Urban, Brooks & Dunn, Trace Adkins, to name a few) and has recorded two Top 40 country music hits with his band – The Farm, will make his Denver Film Festival debut. The popular host and Minnesota native offers viewers a look at his outdoor lifestyle hunting and fishing pursuits, as well as showcases stories from world travels while exploring the sights, sounds, food, culture and music of the places he hunts and fishes. A staunch conservationist, Nick’s award-winning show has garnered him a coveted outdoor industry “Golden Moose Award,” as well as seven Telly Awards for television program excellence.

Leysath, a leading authority on the proper preparation of fish and game, got his start in front of the camera by spending four years on HGTV’s “Home Grown Cooking with Paul James.” When not in front of the camera giving useful cooking tips or preparing dishes, Leysath is often found traversing the country as the lead chef for Sportsman Channel’s HUNT.FISH.FEED program that feeds the needy. He has served nearly 35,000 meals, to date, since the program’s inception in 2007. He also is the author of two “The Sporting Chef’s Wild Game Recipes” cookbooks, cooking editor ofDucks Unlimited Magazine and writes for numerous other publications.

“Having Nick and Scott headline a panel discussion for Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel at the Denver Film Festival is a real treat,” Outdoor Sportsman Group Vice President of Program Planning & Scheduling, Katie Gladstone said. “Nick’s and Scott’s backgrounds are so expansive that we think attendees of the Film Festival will be in for a very interesting afternoon discussing music, food, television, the outdoor industry and more. With Nick and Scott, you never know what direction a discussion will take. That’s why we love them and their shows.”

Tickets can be purchased on the day of the panel discussion at the McNichols building or will be available online at:https://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/2atCCYEBznTRGDqu0oUFj?domain=secure.denverfilm.org.
