Whitetails Unlimited A Big Advocate of the Shooting Sports

Whitetails Unlimited continues their longstanding support of shooting sports, and last fiscal year issued 179 grants totaling more than $325,000 in support of various programs through the WTU Staying on Target program.

As a stout advocate of the shooting sports, Whitetails Unlimited is helping build the next generation of shooters by supporting public archery and firearm ranges. Major emphasis is placed on Whitetails Unlimited shooting sport activities, including the Kids on Target “3 in the Red” firearm challenge and “Three for Three” archery challenge, and our Adopt-A-Team initiative. These target shooting initiatives provide an introduction for youth to archery and firearm fundamentals that help nurture a lifelong interest in the shooting sports, and ultimately expose the next generation to the sport of regulated hunting.

“There’s a proven progression where youth that shoot at targets eventually want to get in the woods and shoot at the real thing which is one our goals here at WTU,” says Whitetails Unlimited Program Services Director Russ Austad.
