Whitetails Unlimited Awards $2,500 to IHEA-USA
Whitetails Unlimited recently awarded a $2,500 grant to the International Hunter Education Association-USA for their upcoming annual conference, which brings the total WTU has contributed to more than $12,000 to this organization since 2015. The IHEA annual conference brings together state hunter education administrators, officials, and instructors. These are the official state employees responsible for the coordination and delivery of hunter education in their state.
The IHEA-USA is the professional hunter education association affiliated with the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies and the 50 state fish and hunter education programs. The programs has 55,000 instructors, many of whom are volunteers, that teach hunting and shooting safety and responsibilities throughout the United States. Hunter Education courses train and certify more than 650,000 students annually.
“IHEA is the standard by which hunter safety is taught,” says Whitetails Unlimited Program Services Director Russ Austad. “They are also a huge mandatory stepping stone into the outdoors for most hunters, and we’re proud to support their efforts.”
