(Washington, D.C.) – As the Coronavirus/COVID-19 has emerged as a threat to public health, the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports (Council) is committed to preventing the spread of the virus and is following federal guidelines for event planning and execution issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in addition to the guidance offered by state and local agencies.

The Council is rescheduling the 2020 National R3 Symposium for August 25-27, 2020, in Broken Arrow, OK.

Any participants currently registered for the Symposium will remain registered for the August event. To cancel one’s registration, please email Sawyer Connelly at symposium@cahss.org. For those participants that have already booked hotel arrangements at Stoney Creek Hotel and Event Center, their reservations will automatically be transferred to the dates of August 24-27, 2020, by the hotel. If necessary, these reservations may be adjusted by emailing Shannon Walsh directly at shannon.walsh@stoneycreekhotels.com.

In the coming weeks, Council staff will contact invited speakers and sponsors to adjust plans for the new event date. If there are any immediate questions, please contact Sawyer Connelly at symposium@cahss.org.

The Council will continue to monitor COVID-19 health updates closely and will update participants in the days ahead. Additionally, the Council will work with the Stoney Creek Hotel and Event Center to ensure we are taking every precaution to provide the highest standard of cleanliness during the event so that guests feel safe.
