WWII Icons, Safari Legends and Revolver Royalty Anchor July’s Collector’s Elite Auctions

Collector’s Elite Auctions returns with a standout July collection of highly desirable collector firearms, opening July 6 and closing the evening of July 20. This month’s no-reserve offering features four exceptional lots, including a remarkable WWII Collector’s Package comprising battle rifles from four major combatant nations, alongside one of the finest safari rifles ever built, a stainless steel oddity from the 1980s, and a scoped revolver from Colt’s golden age.

Each item is presented with high-resolution photography, verified details, and the full backing of Collector’s Elite standards for quality and transparency.

WWII Collector’s Package – Four Rifles from the Axis and Allies

A ready-made centerpiece for any World War II firearms collection, this four-rifle package spans the full arc of the global conflict with authentic examples from Nazi Germany, the United States, Imperial Japan, and the Soviet Union. Each rifle carries the marks, modifications, and context of a battlefield survivor—and together, they form a museum-worthy display.

1938 JP Sauer & Sohn K98k – Serial 278
Stamped “S/147 1938,” this early Karabiner 98k from JP Sauer & Sohn features Waffenamt WaA214 inspection codes and a rare DDR Eagle/278 rework stamp, showing continued service under East Germany post-war. Matching serial numbers across most major components (minus bolt and safety), a patinated hardwood stock, and field-worn finish highlight its journey through two regimes.

1944 Springfield Armory M1 Garand – Serial 2501912
A Springfield-produced example of America’s legendary battle rifle, this M1 features a Winchester trigger group and July 1965-marked barrel, almost certainly an arsenal rework later imported by Blue Sky. Strong mechanicals, an honest walnut stock, and Parkerized finish make it both collectible and fully functional.

1944 Type 99 Arisaka Last Ditch – Serial 68479
A stark reflection of Japan’s final war years, this “Last Ditch” rifle features simplified construction, katsura wood stock, and minimal finish—built for war, not aesthetics. The defaced chrysanthemum, crude fittings, and battlefield patina speak to the desperation and determination of a fading empire.

1943 Izhevsk Mosin-Nagant M91/30 – Serial MN04652
This long-barreled Soviet icon retains its arsenal triangle stamp and Molot rework credentials. With a matching bolt and deep Cold War-era Cyrillic markings, it captures the power and ruggedness of Red Army steel. From Stalingrad to postwar surplus shelves, the Mosin’s legacy is unmatched.

Together, these four rifles form a compelling historical arc—a full-scope WWII collection in a single package.

Colt Sauer Grand African in .458 Win. Mag. – Serial CR12196

Built in 1976 through a collaboration between Colt and West Germany’s J.P. Sauer & Sohn, the Grand African is a bolt-action powerhouse chambered in .458 Winchester Magnum. It features a mirror-bright bore, factory-tuned trigger, and smooth push-feed action. The Monte Carlo walnut stock is accented by rosewood with ivory inlays, and the rifle ships in its original box. Elegant yet deadly, this is safari-grade craftsmanship for the field or fine collection.

COP Inc. SS-1 Compact Off-Duty Police Derringer – Serial 019243

This stainless steel 4-shot .357 Magnum derringer was built as a rugged backup gun for law enforcement, using a ratcheting striker system and break-open loading. Designed by Robert Hillberg and produced from 1983 to 1989, the COP .357 combines revolver power with compact dimensions. Rarely seen today, this piece of American design ingenuity offers Cold War-era collectibility with real punch.

1981 Colt Python Hunter – Serial LA5754

One of only 2,400 factory-equipped Python Hunters ever made, this scoped .357 Magnum revolver features an 8-inch vent-rib barrel, a factory-installed Leupold 2x scope, and the timeless Colt Royal Blue finish. With Pachmayr “Presentation” grips and its original Halliburton aluminum case, this revolver is both a performance-driven field piece and a crown jewel for Colt collectors.

All items in this month’s auction will be sold with no reserve. From wartime legends to precision revolvers, this is one of the most dynamic and historically rich offerings Collector’s Elite has ever assembled.
