SCI Hires Bee Frederick as State and Local Liaison for Eastern U.S.

Safari Club International (SCI) is pleased to announce the hiring of Bee Frederick to serve as its eastern region State and Local Liaison. He will work on governmental relations matters involving state laws and regulations related to hunting and conservation.

Over the past two years, Bee handled a number of clients for Alabama-based Direct Communications, where he managed strategic communications, media relations, grassroots and coalition engagement, and overall public affairs programs.

Bee’s previous work for the sporting community and for conservation is extensive, having worked as:

  • The Southeastern States Director for the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) for seven years, where he focused on hunters’ policy issues, legislative caucus infrastructure and development, and various communications programs.
  • The campaign manager for both a statewide constitutional amendment reauthorizing Alabama’s public land program and also for several state legislative races in Alabama.
  • A full-time staffer on Capitol Hill for former Congressman Spencer Bachus (R-AL), a strong supporter of conservation and the Second Amendment.

Bee, a Samford University graduate and former SGA President, resides in Birmingham, Alabama, with his wife. Outside of work, he is a passionate conservationist focused on hunting wild turkeys, upland hunting with his Small Münsterländer, and managing family property in lower Alabama.

“We are thrilled to have Bee Frederick come on board with SCI’s top-tier government affairs team,” said SCI CEO W. Laird Hamberlin. “Bee’s outstanding experience in advocacy, communications and fighting for hunters’ rights in Washington and throughout the United States will serve him well in this role. We are excited for what he will bring to the fight to protect our hunting heritage.”
