Apply Now to Become an Oklahoma Game Warden

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) currently has nine state game warden positions vacant across Oklahoma. The hiring process will take place over the next three months.

No prior law enforcement experience is necessary, but candidates must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 credit hours in a wildlife-related field.

Successful applicants will undergo comprehensive on-the-job training, which includes a 10-week Game Warden Academy, four months of training through the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) for those who are not already CLEET-certified, followed by 12 weeks of the ODWC Field Training Education Program.

An Oklahoma state game warden's responsibilities include protecting wildlife resources by monitoring hunting and fishing activities, investigating reports of law violations, ensuring public safety, educating the public about conservation practices, and many other vital tasks.

Game wardens are required to reside in the county to which they are assigned. For more information about game wardens, contact ODWC Law Enforcement Assistant Chief Lt. Col. Wade Farrar at (9185) 331-5555 or wade.farrar@odwc.ok.gov.

Applications are due by Oct. 27. See more details and submit applications here:
