Indiana: Bicentennial dinner at Spring Mill SP

At 6 p.m., guests will eat at the Grist Mill in the Pioneer Village. Dinner will be catered by Spring Mill Inn. During dessert, guest speaker Jeff Routh will present a history of Lawrence County.

Routh is a Lawrence County native. He has spent more than 59 years in Mitchell and the surrounding area. He has done extensive research on the town’s founding and has read every Mitchell newspaper that exists. He served as chairman of Mitchell's Sesquicentennial in 2003 and was Grand Marshal of the Persimmon Festival parade in 2012. He also helped reorganize the Friends of Spring Mill State Park group.

Reservations are required for this unique dining experience. The cost is $50 per person. To make a reservation, call Spring Mill Inn 812-849-4508.

Park entrance fees are $7 per in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
