The proposed project site is on undeveloped public property owned by the City of Miles City. No private property is included in any part of the proposed project. The project is proposed as a partnership effort between Walleyes Unlimited, City of Miles City and FWP. Comment deadline: Nov. 7 Laurel Parkway Private Pond License Review A private landowner is applying for a private fish pond license and proposes to stock rainbow trout in an unnamed private pond. The 0.39-acre pond is west of Bozeman about 300 yards west of Baxter Creek in the Norton Ranch East Subdivision. Baxter Creek is a tributary of the East Gallatin River and likely contains brook trout and rainbow trout. The pond is fed from a groundwater well located at the site. The outlet consists of a screened Agri-Drain control structure. The intermittent discharge of the pond is directed toward an infiltration chamber. Rainbow trout are not native to Baxter Creek or the East Gallatin River but were legally stocked. Rainbow trout could be removed from the pond via chemical treatments or through senescence.
