Spots are still available for Monroe Lake’s kayaking trips on June 11 and 19. The trips launch from Pine Grove State Recreation Area.

The trip on Tuesday, June 11, begins at 9 a.m. The trip on Wednesday, June 19, begins at 7 p.m. The trips are 2 to 2 ½ hours in length.

Each trip is limited to 10 people ages 16 and older. All participants must have at least two hours of prior paddling experience or must have completed one of Monroe Lake’s Intro to Kayaking workshops.

Cost for the trips is $10 per person. Kayak rentals are available for an additional $20 if you do not have your own boat.

Register for the June 11 trip at bit.ly/explore-6-11-19 by June 7.

Register for the June 19 trip at bit.ly/explore-6-19-19 by June 13.

Guided trips in the Explore Monroe Paddling Series encourage people to enjoy the quieter side of Monroe Lake. Trips highlight beautiful views, hidden wildlife, aquatic plants, and unique land features. The trips typically go through backwater areas that are less well known.
