Houston Safari Club Foundation Awards $187,500 in Dan L Duncan Scholarships
Empowering Future Conservation Leaders
Houston, TX – The Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is pleased to announce that it has awarded $187,500 in scholarships through its prestigious Dan L Duncan Scholarship Program. This year’s recipients—students from accredited Texas universities—are pursuing degrees in Wildlife Management, Range Management, Biology, and related conservation studies.
Since its founding in 1999, the program has awarded hundreds of scholarships totaling over $3.38 million. The annual awards reflect HSCF’s unwavering commitment to nurturing the development of tomorrow’s conservationists.
“The goal of the Dan L Duncan Scholarship Program is to invest in the leaders who will champion wildlife stewardship and sustainable management,” said Darrell Kainer, HSCF Dan L Duncan Scholarship Sponsor. “These scholarships represent both recognition of its recipients’ achievements and our confidence in their potential to make a lasting impact in the field.”
HSCF Executive Director Joe Betar added, “Supporting these remarkable young people aligns directly with HSCF’s mission: to preserve the sport of hunting through education and conservation. The Dan L Duncan Scholarship is not just a financial award—it’s a vote of confidence in a future where conservation and outdoor heritage thrive.”
Applicants are evaluated on academic merit, leadership skills, dedication to conservation, and active promotion of hunting as a conservation tool. This year’s award cycle underscores HSCF’s dedication to shaping a new generation of scientists, land managers, and educators committed to preserving natural resources.
