Lusaka, Zambia and Washington D.C. — Safari Club International (SCI), the global leader in defending the freedom to hunt and promoting wildlife conservation, is proud to announce the official formation of its newest chapter in Zambia. This milestone marks another major step in SCI’s expanding presence across Africa and its unwavering commitment to supporting science-based wildlife management, sustainable use, and local hunting communities.
“The formation of an SCI chapter here is a powerful reminder that hunters are conservationists, and that the sustainable use model works when it is supported by local knowledge, science, and partnership. We’re honored to stand alongside Zambia’s hunting community.” said W. Laird Hamberlin, CEO of Safari Club International.
The SCI Zambia Chapter will serve as a regional hub for hunters, conservation professionals, outfitters, and local stakeholders to collaborate on preserving wildlife, supporting rural livelihoods, and defending ethical hunting practices from growing international pressure.
“SCI is committed to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with hunters and conservationists across Africa. With a formal SCI presence, we can work towards ensuring the future of hunting in Zambia for generations to come.” Said John McLaurin, President of Safari Club International.
