Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife Conservation (AZSFWC) recently completed their 4th Quarter Grant assessment with $53,235 in grants from their L. Gary Stinson Grant Fund awarded to six Arizona non-profit organizations. Grant awards for the year totaled $266,885.

AZSFWC’s Stinson Grants focus on three types of grant categories; Habitat Conservation, Conservation Education, and Youth Recruitment and Retention.

• One grant dealt with Habitat: Wildlife Water Works will be constructing two water hauling trailers.
• One grant centered on Education: Arizona Council of Trout Unlimited (AZTU) will again sponsor their Trout in the Classroom program in many Arizona elementary school classrooms.
• Four grants focused on Youth: AZTU’s 2026 Fish Camp, Valley of the Sun Quail Forever’s (VOTSQF) Cast & Blast event, VOTSQF’s Beginner’s Clay Target Sports Program, and Arizona Foundation for Wildlife’s Fall Family Camp.

The L. Gary Stinson Grant Fund is made possible by the revenue generated from the AZSFWC “Conserving Wildlife” license plate program in cooperation with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). For each plate purchased, ADOT donates $17 to AZSFWC’s Grant Fund.
