Arkansas: Corps Issues Challenge For Wear Your Life Jacket To Work Day

As you know water safety is a major priority to the Army Corps of Engineers. Here at the Little Rock District we promote water safety throughout the year with your help and this year is no exception.

National Safe Boating Week is May 18-24 and is our official kickoff to when we increase our emphasis on water safety during our summer recreation season. May 17 "Wear your Life Jacket to Work Day" is a national campaign to demonstrate how comfortable the newer style life jackets are compared to the older bulkier lifejackets.

Here at the Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District, employees of all disciplines will be wearing their life jackets to work that day to support the campaign.
We challenge your news team to do the same by wearing a life jacket as they gather and report the news.

Your efforts will help spread the word on how easy it is to wear a life jacket and to highlight how wearing one on or near the water can save a life. Statistics show that the majority of drownings occur when a life jacket is not worn.

Please accept our challenge to have your news teams wear a life jacket to work on May 17.
