J.E. Roush Lake FWA receives donation

The Lime City Chapter of Whitetails Unlimited recently donated $3,500 to J.E. Roush Lake Fish & Wildlife Area (FWA).

The funds will be used to pay entrance fees to the shooting range for veterans and youth, and to encourage new recreational shooters to visit and support veterans who wish to continue shooting. Practice at the shooting range allows visitors to become acclimated to shooting, build confidence, and improve accuracy.

“We are grateful for the support of the local chapter of Whitetails Unlimited and their generous donation to range visitors,” said Bethany Blicharz, property manager at J.E. Roush Lake FWA.

Funds collected from an excise tax on the sale of firearms, ammunition, and archery equipment through the Pittman-Robertson Act contribute to the conservation of wildlife and their habitats. Combined with a match, these dollars help DNR create and improve recreational opportunities, wildlife habitat, public access, facilities, and more for all Hoosiers to enjoy.
